Historic Fairview was built in 1918 in a joint project between the US government and the New York Ship Building Company to house shipyard workers. The homes were auctioned to the general public in 1922 and the neighborhood was renamed from Yorkship Village to Fairview. 90 years later, the 1,500 charming perfect-sized homes on meandering english garden village streets each with its own garden, form a diverse neighborhood at the heart of the Philadelphia/South Jersey region. Recession-proof, affordable and diversity: Fairview embodies the new-again-ideal of the American Dream.
